Week 8 - Circulation & Authorship of the photo image

This week we learnt about circulation & authorship of the photo image.

Authorship - is the ownership of an image.
Circulation - is the process of sharing images. 

Circulation of images have changed through out the years. Previously they were shared through photo albums however now in the digital age, photos are shared through the internet and social media. 

Authorship has now become a debatable topic. With the internet anyone has access to images and is able to share them. 

Richard Hamilton, is considered the father of pop art. His work consists of cutting and putting together pieces of photos and paintings. The photos he uses aren’t his and don’t belong to him  but as he places it his way he creates his piece of art having authorship of the final image.
